Office politics

Hii everyone again..
Everyone, at some point or other in life, must have experienced politics at their workplace. This is not because most people do it intentionally,  but because people bring their fears, insecurities and personal lives to office. But whatever the reason, you should always remember that none of this should ever affect your professional capabilities.

THE GOOD

These are some people at your workplace who believe in a positive work environment and discourage unnecessary politics. Be friends be such people. If you wish to be counted in one of these people then strictly discourage malicious behavior that eventually leads to digging your own grave.

THE BAD

I believe these are the people who are simply indifferent to whatever is happening around. There's a marked difference between doing something to stop negativity than just letting it be. You might not have a habit of aggravating the situation but nevertheless, if you do nothing about it, it might just engulf you as well.

THE UGLY

Well, there isn't much to say as to what these people do. Clearly, these are the ones who are the sole reason behind this particular blog post. They consider others as a doormat. They step all over you and when they are done, they simply move forward. They provide spicy gossip to others which never concerns their own selves. Refrain talking from such walkie-talkies.

WHY ?

All workplaces experience politics to some extent simply because a lot of mouths gather together at a specified time and place. Some people just do it out of habit, others do it for fun, while there are others who do it with the purpose of sabotaging someone's peace of mind. It also sometimes leads to abuse of power but that's an entirely different topic to ponder upon.

WHAT TO DO?

* Analysis of the network and source of rumor is important. It is usually from a person or group which is either well connected or in a higher position of authority. Not all people have a reputation for creating negativity. If you don't trust the source may be there are others too who don't care what they say.
* Creat your own network, not to talk negative in return about the 'ugly' people but because the 'good' people would like to flock with similar minded people. It will also help you look at office politics in a different way.
* Destress as and when necessary. Believe that such things are short lived and only 'karma' matters. There is no point taking office tension back to your peaceful nest at home and ruining both personal and professional lives.
* There might be a possibility that what people are talking about you is just a result of misunderstanding. In such a case, confronting the right person might be a good option if the situation favors.
* Develop your talking skills. There's always a better way to put forth your views. Find the best way that suits you.
* Be professional. Don't judge people. Listen to both parties before commenting and try not to get sucked into every argument that takes place.

As much as one wants to avoid negative politics, they are a reality hard to avoid. But I hope the above helped.
Be positive. Be happy.
Best of luck. Enjoy.
Byee.
